We've all been here —You're scrolling on your phone, and suddenly, you come across a post or an artwork that looks familiar to you. Upon closer inspection, you realize it is the artwork of an artist you're following, but the account that posted it is not the artist himself/herself. You check the page or account and see many other artworks posted and/or being sold without permission or credit to the original artists. You then conclude that the account posting is one of those 'art thieves.' Sucks, right?
This is a plague in the art industry. Designs and artworks posted on the internet by various artists are used for personal gain. Not only reposted but worse, sold and posted online as a product without the artists' consent.
AI is becoming an avenue for this but with a twist. In short, it combines artworks from all over the internet world, analyzes them, combines and produces an output. This may steal opportunities from human artists. We support tech and digital art but what we value more is note AI-generated art. Instead, we want to be an avenue for only the genuinely crafted arts by humans.
We aim to be a platform that provides artists an opportunity to sell their original artworks and we are doing our best to check, filter, and verify each artwork sent to us. We want to avoid promoting and supporting stolen art or even AI-generated so once you see a suspicious piece, we will appreciate that you notify us immediately so we can take it down and make an attempt to heal the art world one step at a time.
For the artists who want to be part of prenta.ph, you must be human; not a droid, alien, or some robot pretending to be human! Haha.
[ ] Are you human?
At prenta.ph, we're all for the progress in art, tech, and creation but let's keep in mind that where the soul and heart of creations reside within us, humans. There is something special and unexplainable about the awesome, messy, beautiful chaos and imperfections of what we create. We crave and love all the feels, the texture, and the personal touch that it brings. We are not here to diss AI but prenta.ph exists to bring the soul essence of each brushstroke — digital or traditional, the boundless imagination, and the nobility of human creation in which there is history of ctrl+Z's and fingerprints mark the canvas.
